Elegant, sophisticated and perfectly polished are the best words I can think of to describe Megan+Alex‘s Four Seasons Baltimore Greek wedding. Due to Covid restrictions, Social Graces Events helped Megan+Alex pull off not only a year-delayed wedding postponement, but also a complete venue change! They still had to limit their guest count at the Four Seasons Baltimore Hotel, but they were able to finally have the dream wedding that they wanted! From the moment that Atelier Ashley Flowers walked in with her incredible floral bouquet, to the confetti conclusion, it was obvious that this day was everything that they wanted and more!
Though officially declared husband and wife at their nuptial ceremony at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation, Megan+Alex exchanged personal vows to one another afterwards. (See more below about Orthodox weddings!) Cocktail hour was held on the Splash Terrace, before guests were invited to find their seats inside the Grand Ballroom. Dreamtime band kept a social distance behind protective plastic, but had the dance floor packed! The Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore provided a delicious meal, as well as late night snacks, like crab pretzels, to feed the midnight munchies. I finished out the evening capturing the confetti poppers celebrating the newlyweds!
Megan+Alex – It was well worth the wait! Congratulations again! Much Love, ♥ tPoz
The team from Brushed Beauty and Kelley Unthank Makeup had the girls looking flawless!
If you’ve never been to an Orthodox church wedding before, there are a few things that might surprise you! The bride and groom don’t speak during the ceremony. Vows are not exchanged, and the couple faces forward instead of towards one another. The act of placing the rings on one another’s right hand seals the marriage commitment. (Yes, the right hand, as in the Bible, the right hand represents virtue) The couple is adorned with crowns, that are attached by a ribbon, as they are pronounced King and Queen of their homes and of their new generation. The Father will guide the bride and groom around the altar table three times, to symbolize their first steps together as husband and wife, that their journey begins together, and to always walk through life with the Holy Trinity.
They exchanged their personal vows to one another after their church ceremony.
There is nothing like the beauty of a Bentley!
Check out those gorgeous chandeliers they had installed in the Grand Ballroom!!
YESSSS!!! FINALLY!!!
It’s a shame they didn’t know how to have *any* fun. 😉
