And The Soldiers Come Marching Home: Welcome Home Ceremony

The massive flag barely moved with the stillness of the air.  It was a blazing hot day at Fort McHenry, but the men and women we were there to honor had certainly endured long days, hotter than we will ever know.  It was a happy occasion – the Alpha Company of the 323rd Military Intelligence Battallion had returned home after 400-days in Iraq, defending our great country.  Not one member of the troop was lost during this tour of duty, something to be ecstatic about.  These proud but humble soldiers were honored and thanked for their service by Governor Martin O’Malley, Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger, Congressman Frank Kratovil, military officers, and their families.  One by one, their names were called, and they were presented with a flag.

We live in the land of the free because of the brave.  Thank you and Welcome Home!
