Hurricane Florence is looming to the south of us this weekend, so I find it’s appropriate that I shared another torrential rainy celebration– Emily+Joe’s Annapolis Waterfront Hotel wedding! The forecast for their wedding was looking quite scary, and knowing how Annapolis can flood, I was a little concerned, being right on the water. Well – it started out just gloomy and threatening, and the guys even got to go outside for portraits! But then it did rain. A Lot. So we improvised and Emily+Joe’s First Look was held in the lobby, and we kept Emily’s dress dry under the overhang of the hotel entrance for some portraits before heading into the ballroom. The ceremony chuppah had been moved inside, and we took some portraits in front of it.
An emotional ketubah signing, with tears from Grandpa, led us straight into the Jewish wedding ceremony, where there were a few additional tears shed. Joe’s family from England watched via Facetime, which was pretty cool! After the ceremony, I begged Emily to go outside for a super quick minute while the rain had slowed, for some night/rain shots. She really didn’t want to get her dress wet, but I’m SO glad that she agreed to let me make the magic with the rain!
The wedding reception was one heck of a dance party, which should be no surprise, given that Emily+Joe met at dance camp! Between the couple and their friends, I was impressed with the choreographed dances and energetic dance moves. Emily+Joe – may your wedding day be the stormiest day of your marriage. Congratulations again on your Annapolis Waterfront Hotel wedding! Much Love, ♥ tPoz
