We were just about ready to take another foster dog, when I got the message from the rescue team at BARCS. Cocoa Kelly was super sick and needed me. However, due to a death in our family, it was going to be tricky figuring out how to make sure Cocoa would be cared for. Luckily, I have amazing friends (many of them!) who offered to take Cocoa Kelly while we would be out of town. The Poz Palace has become the landing place for the sickest of pups, and we love nursing the pups back to health, and seeing the gratitude on their faces, and in their sweet kisses (check out this first instagram pic – Cocoa is thanking me for busting her outta the shelter).
Cocoa Kelly is finally feeling better after a miserable first week, and a few days in the hospital, and is just about ready to go to her forever home! She was adopted from the get-go, but she can’t go home until she’s spayed, and she can’t be spayed until she’s not sick. So this adorable little nugget – 7 years old, very overbred, but sweet as can possibly be, and extremely low energy – has weaseled her way into our hearts (Poz’s especially!) She has been such a lovely houseguest, chilling in the office with Poz all day long – she often times needs a nap from her nap 😉 She especially loves snuggling on top of Pozzie’s chest, and he has fallen hard for this little girl.
Yesterday we had a little photo-shoot to get some glamour shots of the little princess, and you can just see the sweetness oozing out of her face! Cocoa – we love you and know you are going to make your new family very very happy! ♥
And once again – To steal a passage from the Lucky Dog Rescue Blog :: “Fostering is the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. It’s given me more joy, laughter, and love than I deserve. At the end, there’s always heartbreak. But never for a second does the sadness outweigh the joy. Never do the tears outweigh the laughter. And never does the pain outweigh the love. Heartbreak heals… but love is forever.”
Awww! Seriously who would not want Cocoa Kelly!!!? serious puppy dog eyes in these photos! ;D
