They had me at “he proposed by tying the ring to Maggie’s (their dogs) collar.” Meshing two of my favorite things – dogs and weddings – together, I’m in heaven!! And while Maggie couldn’t attend Jenny+Kenny’s Westin Georgetown wedding, she was definitely there in spirit, with canvas prints, table numbers, and even the favors showing her off! To start the day, the bridesmaids lounged about the Presidential Suite in their hot pink robes and had their hair & makeup prepped by Jordan K. Winn. Jenny contemplated the enormity of the day as she silently slipped into her Anna Maier wedding gown with the help of her mom and maid of honor. And right before walking down the aisle, she wrote a little note, and sent it with a flower girl down the aisle to the man she has been in love with for over 10 years – it read “I can’t wait to kiss you!” <<swooooon>> The ceremony was held at St. Pauls in Old Town Alexandria, and it meant a lot to them, as it is the same place where Jenny’s grandparents and parents were wed years before.
Before heading back to the Westin Georgetown, the bridal party made a quick stop at Gravelly Point Park for some portraits, and some exhilarating flyovers as planes made their final descent into Reagan National Airport. Cocktail hour in the courtyard was blessed with amazing weather, and guests enjoyed signing the bench that will be displayed in Jenny+Kenny’s home. Both touching and crazy toasts, funky dance moves, tasty Georgetown Cupcakes, and lots of photobooth memories made this one super fun reception! And I had to laugh when Jenny’s dad & his military friends busted out glasses with skulls on them, and showed off their dance moves! Such a fun night! A big thanks to Kyle Bergner for being such an awesome 2nd shooter & helping me to document the day. Jenny+Kenny – thank you guys for trusting me to capture all the special moments of your big day, it was amazing!!! Much Love, ♥ tPoz
