Karen+Jon’s Baltimore winter Belvedere wedding was elegant, sophisticated, yet full of fun! I had fully expected as much, after spending time with them during their fall engagement session. The bride and groom got ready at Hotel Indigo, which is located in Mount Vernon, and is convenient to many of the downtown Baltimore wedding venues. It is also right around the corner from the iconic Washington Monument, which is where Karen+Jon had their First Look. Karen was surrounded by her sister & best friends, and they enjoyed some bubbly while they got ready. Bridesmaids dressed in their most sparkly gorgeous dresses were blown away when Karen slipped into her beautiful lace sleeved gown, and glided down the stairs for the big reveal. Then it was really real for her! Meanwhile, the guys were also getting suited up, with the addition of some heart-warming bourbon to keep them toasty before stepping outside.
It was quite chilly, but everyone was in great spirits as we rocked out the First Look, and wedding party portraits. The Washington Monument & surrounding area is such a great spot for Baltimore wedding photos, with the smooth marble reflecting great light, and views of the sloping city streetscapes. From there, we headed over to the Belvedere wedding venue, where we took some family photos in front of the fireplace in the John Eager Howard Room. The Belvedere was constructed in 1903 as Baltimore’s first luxury hotel, and was the place to go for society’s elite. Therefore, it makes perfect sense to host elite weddings and events in present day at this venue.
The Grand Ballroom hosted the wedding ceremony and reception, while the elegant Platinum Ballroom entertained guests during cocktail hour. For seated receptions with a dance floor, The Grand Ballroom can accommodate approximately 290 guests, making it one of the larger wedding venues in Baltimore. Karen+Jon’s guests danced all night, and hammed it up for the photobooth. A gourmet spread of desserts was available to cure a sweet tooth. Before the night was over, I made sure to get one of the iconic photos with Karen+Jon in the window of the Belvedere with the marquee sign lit up. All in all, it was a perfect winter Belvedere wedding in Baltimore! Karen+Jon – congratulations again! Much love, ♥ tPoz
