Jamie+Cecil’s Multicultural Wedding day started with the Baraat, where the groom arrives on a white horse, surrounded by friends & family dancing to lively music, which was incredible! Several traditions followed before heading inside to the Mandap – the bride & groom exchanging garlands, the mother of the bride playfully grabbing the grooms nose, the bridal party stealing the groom’s shoes, and gifts being presented. The ceremony in the Mandap is full of tradition and rituals, including a fun one – both the bride & groom stand up and on the count of 3, whoever sits down first is said to rule the house. Cecil won 😉 After the ceremony was over, the girls all blocked the limo, only relenting (and giving back Cecil’s shoes) once they were given money!
In between the Hindu and Christian ceremonies, we took a little bit of time for some portraits, before they changed into their American wedding outfits. After the Christian ceremony was over, guests were really ready for a party! The energy that filled this reception was amazing! Jamie+Cecil were treated to a dance by some of their cousins, as well as a professional dance team. Guests enjoyed delicious food by IndAroma Catering (it was really good!)
I couldn’t have done it without my 2nd shooter, Ashley, and my assistant, Megan! Jamie+Cecil – thank you for trusting me to capture the moments of this incredible day! Much Love, ♥ tPoz
